Submit your work for the first ever Earth Sessions Radical Imagination Art-Ivism Mini-Grant in partnership with Climate Cafe NYC and The Climate Imaginarium . All winners work will be showcased at our Climate Week Kick Off Event on September 21st. ? Submit your existing or new works by September 6th. ??? Mini-Grant criteria:? - Artistic Merit: Originality, creativity, and the ability to engage and inspire the viewer - Alignment with Theme: The art should clearly align with the intersection of climate, culture and joy - Community Impact: The potential of the artwork to spark dialogue and inspire positive action within the community We welcome applications that utilize a variety of media to bring their vision to life, including: - Music (original compositions or re-imagined pieces) ?? - Poetry & Spoken Word ??? - Animation & Digital Art ?? - Photography & Film ????? - Mixed Media installations ??? Recap of a recent Earth Sessions sessions in collaboration with TREEage A few weeks ago Leah Thomas and I hosted an Earth Sessions in NYC, with our friend Shiv Soin. It was incredible to see so many students interested and engaged in our teach-in about climate justice as part of the Green, Healthy Schools initiative. Attendees had the opportunity to take action and contact their representatives to advocate for a cleaner, greener future, and learn more about the policies in their communities. Our screen printing booth was so popular that we ran out of shirts and we gave away 200+ books to our student community. The performances by the GAIA String Quartet and Jamila Woods were incredible and we hosted an inspiring vision boarding session about the future of public schools?in NYC. Earth Sessions bring me so much joy and I love being able to blend creativity, community, and climate action. #Event #EarthSessions #Concert

The best way to end off Earth Month — with an art-filled Earth Sessions in partnership with Pinterest. One of my favorite earth sessions programs is giving out hundreds of free books to attendees. This time titles included some of my favorites like Pleasure Activism, All We Can Save, Parable of the Sower, and so many more! There was also incredible music from Xiuhtezcatl Roske Martinez and Rexx Life Raj, screenprinting, a local artisan market, and so many more incredible art x enviro activations. We heard great panels from Isaias Hernandez, Leah Thomas, and Jessica Buendia from Dream and I led a conversation with Xiuhtezcatl Roske Martinez about the release of his new music! Our partnership with Pinterest helped bring so many of our ideas to life and it was so fulfilling to bring so many communities, including art, tech, and science together to center joy, hope, and optimism in the environmental space. An evening of music, community, and celebration at the Joy Report Launch Party with Earth Sessions and KEEN! I had an amazing time co-hosting our last Earth Sessions of 2023 alongside Leah Thomas! I moderated a conversation with the artist Paw Paw Rodney on his musical career, sources of inspiration, the meaning behind his stage name, and our mutual love for the ocean. The night was filled with joy and spent with so many of our community members! We can't wait to bring you more Earth Sessions programming in 2024!
