Last week, something a bit elusive happened at AVA Festival London. A room full of music people experienced Jarvis Cocker’s ‘Biophobia’ talk—but if you weren’t there, you’ll have to take their word for it. We asked people not to record it and share it ??... so just left with real life memories (and lots of giggles). Still riding high from EarthPercent Hour at the Green Events & Innovation conference last month! Thanks so much to A Greener Future for giving us the space again this year to platform some truly inspiring musicians and activists using the power of music for our planet. Thank you to Moby, Declan McKenna and Jason Singh for making this EarthPercent Hour so special. Jason Singh opened the Hour with an immersive and beautiful performance blending music and nature sounds, and Declan and Moby spoke with our Co-Executive Director Cathy Runciman about how music and culture can serve the Earth and all that live here. We always leave this conference with new knowledge and feeling energized by all of the industry actors creating positive change with ingenuity and compassion. Last week, the joint winners of the Tune Into Nature Music Prize were announced: a drum and bass track with nightingales centre-stage and a dreamy soundscape of the Dolomite mountains. Congratulations to Wildforms (Dan Cippico) with 'Nightingale' and Josephine Illingworth with 'Dawn'. Two pieces very different in style, they both wowed the judging panel with their immersive feeling of interconnectedness between humans and our natural environment. Elizabeth Alker dedicated a fantastic episode of 'Unclassified' on BBC Radio 3 to the Prize, where you can listen to the winning and shortlisted tracks. The winners will each receive ￡500, opportunities to work with members of the judging panel, and the option to have their track featured on NATURE’s profile on major streaming platforms as part of Sounds Right. Helped reach 10.5M+ million listeners through the Sounds Right initiative led by the Museum for the United Nations - UN Live, with EarthPercent as a key partner. ? Been featured in leading publications like Billboard, The Fast Company, BBC Radio 6, Forbes, BBC News, Music Business Week, NME, Kerrang and even honored as IQ Magazine’s Green Guardians of 2024!
