We are proud to announce that Earth Engineers, an RMA Company from RMA Companies’ Pacific Northwest Division has been awarded a contract to provide special inspection and geotechnical engineering services on one of the US Navy’s most ambitious construction projects to date: replacing Dry Dock 3 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. This $3.4 billion building project is led by the joint venture of Dragados USA, Inc., Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, and Orion Construction Services, LLC (DHO JV). Construction is anticipated to take three years to complete and is the largest building project ever undertaken by the US Navy. Dry Dock 3 will be replaced by Dry Dock 5, nearly doubling its depth and enhancing its operational capabilities. Due to the geologic environment of Pearl Harbor and the magnitude of the proposed dry dock, the project’s construction will be highly complex, utilizing multiple deep foundations, shoring, and soil improvement systems.
