Suzan Shahrestani, co-founder of Minnowtech, is presenting about “Seeing with Sound: Estimating Shrimp Biomass with 95% Accuracy”. In her presentation, she highlights Minnowtech’s latest innovation in aquaculture through sonar technology.
After developing the device for over 2 years in Hawaii, Suzan and her team have developed a prototype that completely changed the biomass problem. Previously, it was almost impossible to count shrimp in ponds, but this sonar-based device takes information and studies shrimp behavior, turning it into biomass data with >95% accuracy. “We are now at 1.3 billion shrimp and counting,” shares Suzan.
Thank you, Suzan, for an insightful introduction to this innovative technology in shrimp farming!
