This week, we extend our sincere gratitude to Ealain Studio. R-W has had the privilege of collaborating with Ealain on numerous projects over the years, including the recent Hyatt Regency Chicago. With 35 floors, 2,032 rooms, and 123 suites, the Hyatt Regency Chicago is the largest hotel in the city. One notable design feature is how Chicago's rich architectural history is elegantly reflected throughout the guestrooms. The headboard design, pictured below, spans 360 years of the city's history, displayed in 20-year intervals with each milestone represented by a black and white photograph from the Chicago Architecture Center archives. Roberto Calderon, R-W’s FF&E Field and Product Specialist, shares, “We had the pleasure of working closely with Janet D’Aprix, Jacqueline McGee and Amber Chilton on the extensive renovation. Ealain was a fantastic partner throughout—friendly, cooperative, and solution- oriented. For a project of this magnitude, their collaboration was invaluable in ensuring everything ran smoothly.” Cara Osborn, Sr. Project Director, says, “You will never hear ‘that’s not my job’ from Janet. Ealain is a client-centric design firm that’s not afraid to get their hands dirty, and they consistently strive to provide excellent customer service. This past week Ealain studio worked with Proarc Architects & Engineering Consultants , Bulley & Andrews, #AccentiLighting and #AjaxConsulting to create a full-scale mockup of the new ceiling design at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
