Federated learning in full-swing! Flower Labs and Rhino Federated Computing, two EAIDB-listed companies, are teaming up to build more interoperable and capable federated systems and potentially unlock data for a variety of use cases where privacy is of the utmost concern. Recapping the RAI space in February 2025: new massive funding rounds, two big safety and security releases for LLMs / agents, and some big moves from Experian. Here are the highlights: 1. Arize AI raises a massive $70m Series C led by Battery Ventures, TCV, and Datadog (among others) to scale evaluation and observability for LLMs / agents and further develop Arize Phoenix OSS, the most widely used open-source library for LLM observability. 2. Haize Labs releases Verdict (accelerated, custom, and better performing LLMs-as-a-judge), vijil releases Dome (security testing and monitoring for agentic applications). 3. Flower Labs partners with Rhino Federated Computing (both EAIDB-listed companies!) to combine and enhance their federated computing / federated AI capabilities. 4. There is a dangerous pattern emerging from the top model providers - as the capabilities of the model increase, they're also getting more biased, less safe, and harder to align. - Anthropic's Claude 3.7 Sonnet is more susceptible to attacks than its previous models. - OpenAI's GPT 4.5 is significantly more biased than GPT 4o. - DeepSeek AI is one of the most biased and most hallucination-prone models out there. - Google DeepMind's Gemini 2.0 is less safe than its previous Gemma series.
