??New Case Study: Using AI to Streamline Precision Oncology Cancer care is becoming more complex, with oncologists needing to analyze detailed biomarker testing data for treatment decisions. For many physicians—especially in rural areas—keeping up with the rapid growth of genomic data is a challenge. The Jackson Laboratory’s The Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative (MCGI), working with experts from the Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University and The Roux Institute at Northeastern University are using AI to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and free up experts’ time for patient care. Here’s how AI is enhancing precision oncology: -Automating document processing to reduce manual data entry -Using optical character recognition (OCR) to read handwritten notes -Extracting key genomic insights from unstructured medical records -Structuring Genomic Tumor Board (GTB) transcripts into queryable summaries With these tools, oncologists and genetic experts can focus on identifying treatment options for more patients, rather than spending hours on case prep and documentation. ??
