A huge thank you to Eagle’s courier Sterling who, pulled over the Eagle van on his route today when he saw an elderly gentleman who was walking take a hard fall. Sterling is a retired EMT and firefighter and engaged in first aid and called for help and waited until that assistance arrived. Sterling certainly lives up to his name and demonstrated Eagle’s values of respect and compassion today “outside of his office” – thank you so very much for your quick thinking and quality service and care to our community! Eagle is so incredibly proud to have you on our team!

The Marines have arrived! As have the Toys for Tots boxes ??An annual tradition at Eagle, is our participation in the Marines Toys For Tots event as so many families have experienced hard times with children in need of toys. Wow! Look at that truckload full of supplies that went to Ashe County in Western North Carolina this past weekend. And our Oak Ridge Team filled up their table to donate to the NC Relief Project! Thank you to Jen, Jennifer, Halona, Darla and Edmund for leading their teams and to ALL of the Eagle employees and patients who opened their hearts, wallets, pantries and garages to donate. We are strong and we are making a difference!

The devastation in Western NC and other parts of our country is profound and with so much need it is difficult to know where to start. Eagle encourages our staff and patients to plug-in wherever their hearts lead them and doesn’t endorse one organization over the other as we urge everyone to support in whatever way is meaningful to them as we come together as a community to help rescue, recover and rebuild. Our salute of thanks and gratitude to the first responders, FEMA, National Guard and the many volunteers working to meet the first and immediate response needs. And as the weeks and months ensue, Eagle offers thanks and appreciation also to the utility workers, communications specialists, architects, planners, laborers and volunteers who will pour their hearts and strength into rebuilding the infrastructure, bridges, roads, schools, businesses and homes. It will be a long hard journey, but North Carolina is strong and we stand together!
