As part of the WSP foundation, the Laptop Donations Scheme helps small charities and CICs to improve their operations and support their work by donating laptops that are no longer used at WSP. Amy Draper, Strategic Growth Lead in Defence and Security team at WSP in the UK has recently helped acquire and begin the donation process of multiple laptops through our scheme to social enterprise e50K. e50k‘s aim is to bring Armed Forces and local civilian communities together, encouraging inclusion, cohesion and a healthier lifestyle for all. Delivering community spirit for Defence Families SEKO have a keen interest in supporting strong integrated communities and this includes partnering with e50K Communities to help the UKs Defence community. On?Saturday 20th July SEKO Logistics funded an historical learning event at e50Ks Bramble Woods. Teaming up with the Rusticas Theatre Company, Catterick Historical Achieves and local volunteers (with a special mention to?Dan Boatright Greene)?to deliver intergenerational activities to over 100 people across 3 sessions - including one session to 33 individuals with special educational needs (SEN) "I could never take my children to a theatre because of my sons complex needs - it just wouldn’t work. For the last 50 years people have been asking the question 'Can women have it all?' - can they have a family AND a successful career? Rather than asking this question, the e50K team are asking 'What do we need to do to make sure that we support and nurture the wellbeing of working mums?'. Last week my son was sick and couldn't go to nursery, he had to stay at home with me as my Armed Forces partner wasn't able to have any leave- there was no judgement from the e50K team, using a mixture of flexi hours, leave and working with my son on my knee I got through the week painlessly. I did what I could and what I couldn't do got carried over to this week. The whole team checked on me and asked how they could support. We are re-writing what it means to be a business and an employee, we are starting from scratch and throwing away the established rules. There is so much more that we are hoping to do and employee support we are looking to implement over the next few months and years. e50K are determined to be lead the way in employee support and welfare.
