Malcolm is making magic happen ??? Malcolm Mitchell is teaming up with E3 to bring the joy of reading to life as he travels through Virginia this week hosting inspiring READing Rallies. The staff and students in Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Chesterfield had an amazing time at yesterday's Rallies! Over 2,000 copies of The Magician's Hat were given out to the kids. ?? The New E3 School ?? Former New England Patriot, Malcolm Mitchell is teaming up with E3 to inspire a love for reading and put more books in the hands of children. Kicking off tomorrow, Malcolm will share his story and talk about the importance of reading to five schools across VA. The READing Rallies transform the traditional author visit into an exciting mix of a pep rally and read-aloud session. Our very own Lisa Howard made a special appearance on 13 News to shine a light on the reading crisis in our community and across VA. Did you know that 40% of children can’t read proficiently by 3rd grade? Third grade is a critical benchmark. When students cannot read by 3rd grade, they are 4 times more likely to drop out of high school and face challenges in higher education, the workforce, and life. At E3, we’re dedicated to raising awareness, advocating for increased public-private investment, and creating innovative initiatives to tackle the reading crisis.
