关于我们

A mixed-income, high quality implementation model school using data to drive innovation and impact for ALL children regardless of their zip code. We built our school from scratch based on best practices nationally and internationally. Our school is a catalyst for policy change and public-private investment. Our STREAMin3 curriculum, professional development, coaching and assessment model developed by UVA in our school is being replicated and scaled in 5,000+ classrooms across Virginia. STREAM in3 is the most widely used early childhood curriculum in VA. Every year we raise private dollars for scholarships for low and middle income families to have the opportunity to attend. 10 years of data and stories to prove that when every child has equitable access to high quality early education they will be ready for kindergarten academically and socially.

Happy Birthday to a very special person who was the vision and passion behind our school???? We are so thankful for Y??U! Our preschoolers could not wait to share their creative genius, rhythm and soul to celebrate Jane Batten. As our school turns 10 this year, we have so much to celebrate! Our story started with this fabulous lady and a really big idea. That idea has impacted thousands of children, families, teachers and programs across Virginia.

  • GIVE a gift of a scholarship and Y??U help: ??Build strong language and literacy skills. ??Boost math skills. ??Teach cooperation, collaboration, team work, sharing and empathy. ??Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Your gift will provide an opportunity for a child to attend our school and be ready for kindergarten. We believe EVERY child deserves a high quality early education. Every gift collectively makes an impact. Donate quickly and securely at https://lnkd.in/eyCJ5DpY

What is Wade’s favorite book? Watch as he picks The Good Egg ??by Jory John and Pete Oswald off the shelf. This story is about an egg that rescues animals, helps others and is always trying to be perfect. The other eggs in the dozen are far from perfect. Then the good egg starts to crack under pressure (literally) from trying to be so perfect and expecting others to be perfect too. Can anyone relate? As the story unfolds, the good egg learns how important it is to take care of yourself while helping others. He learns to take time for himself by going for walks, writing in his journal, being quiet and still, breathing, painting, reading and relaxing in nature. Slowly but surely, the good egg heals and recognizes that no one is perfect. He learns how to take better care of himself and manage stress. This book is filled with life lessons for all ages: ?No one is perfect. ?Help others. ?Take time for yourself. ?Find activities that bring you joy. ?Practice breathing and mindfulness. This book provides a wonderful opportunity to talk about the story, make connections to the characters and share how you struggle to find balance everyday. Just READ and BREATHE.

  • Listen as Ensley tells us about her favorite book from The Lisa Robertson Literacy Lab + Library. She loves The Dinosaur Lady. Why? She wants to be a Paleontologist. She has a goal of checking out and reading every single book in the Library before she heads off to kindergarten. That’s a lot of books to read. We have no doubt that Ensley will accomplish her goal. How many books have you read this week? Just READ.

  • We ?? to celebrate our E3 School Alumni! We couldn’t be prouder of this guy. He could be a Future President! The project at his local elementary school was a celebration of Black History Month. Alon represented Barack Obama for the Black History Month Living Museum to honor the leaders, trailblazers, and unsung heroes who have shaped history. Way to go, Alon! We are impressed with your creativity, attention to detail and presentation.

  • It is so important that our children of all ages see adults around them reading and enjoying books.

Want your child to take an interest in literacy? Remember that in child development you reap what you sow. Daily reading (ideally configured face-to-face) is a wonderful way to plant the seeds of language and literacy with your baby from their earliest days. Not only will reading together substantially boost your child’s vocabulary over time, but it illustrates a powerful lesson: this is something YOU value and enjoy. And as I’ve written a thousand times, your baby wants nothing more than to be just like you. Don’t be discouraged as you get started. Infants have very short attention spans and will initially spend more time attuned to you than the book (hence the face to face), and may seek to explore books first with their mouths (which is why sturdy, laminated board books are a great first choice). Don’t let any of this deter you. Start small. But start. And make reading a part of your daily routine. As this lovely video shared to IG by sophia.s.playroom illustrates, the benefits can be huge.

Did you know that 90% of a child’s brain is developed before the age of five? ? Learning begins long before a child enters the kindergarten classroom. Think about building a house. You want that house to have a strong foundation. Equitable access to quality early learning programs lays a strong foundation for school readiness in literacy, math, social skills and self-regulation. How do we know? The E3 School has data to prove that when children from all zip codes have access, they enter kindergarten ready to succeed. ? Investing in high-quality early education benefits not just children, but working families, communities, and society. ?
