The amount of applications I received on a Sunday was overwhelming, just wanted to post this out, and hope everyone who applied sees this, and understands why I may not get back to you quickly. I am basically the one person HR, IT and Finance teams (with a bit of outside help) in addition to doing "actual work" for E3 Designers. It will take me a good while to sort through the people who applied, and then to reach out to them. 1. Given the nature of much of our work, US citizens are preferred, and may be the priority for some time. 2. This is a pure contract/hourly role, there are no benefits at all. You will be a 1099 contractor/non-employee of E3 Designers. 3. At this moment, I am looking for folks to potentially fill a large design project which we do not have a formal services agreement or purchase order for. 4. If you are unfamiliar with consutling/freelance/contract work, please be aware there is no guarantee of salary, hours per pay period, or continuation of any contract. That is simply the nature of the business we are in. I will review the applications that came in, and may reach out to you. Given the previous points I listed out, I understand if your interest lessens/goes away.

Yes, this. I championed Altium for years - but it's been a slow decline into a hot mess of a tool. Bloated with features no one asked for, and functions no one cares about. Tiered/paywalled functions and capabilities... Really lost the plot over there...

Altium? Thanks for changing what "Perpetual" means, out of sheer corporate greed. I will not be paying 10's of thousands of dollars for a CAD tool getting worse each release. Go pound sand, and have a nice life. I hope you turn into the industry dinosaurs you disrupted a decade ago, and go the way of the dinosaurs as well. Classless, corporate greed. I might get booted off of LinkedIn for posting this, because, well, where can we really be honest anymore...but perpetual has a pretty standard definition in the dictionary. I paid for PERPETUAL access to your software, and if I am willing to pay maintenance on those seats, I am not sure how it is legal to stop offering updates and patches.

So much of the on-going project work at E3D has been signal and power integrity related work over the last number of months. It is really amazing that having invested in the tools has led to so much interest, and confidence, from the folks we have worked with. There hasn't been much to share lately, but we remain busy, and remain committed to helping people make their complicated designs become reality. I had a great day at the SI Masterclass seminar that Judy Warner recommended to me recently. The folks at MathWorks have a fantastic campus they are hosting us at, and Donald Telian is a wonderful instructor and seems like a genuinely nice human. I would put him on the same tier as Lee Hill and Eric Bogatin terms of people you should want to support. There are too many clout chasing pricks in our industry, and people who should not be teaching and giving talks that are. Don't support them, support the nice ones that know their stuff. Big shout out to Judy Warner again, for being a good industry person in an industry full of ego.

It has been quite a while since I have posted any kind of update here - we have been extremely busy supporting a product development effort for industrial instrumentation, transitioning to production from the R&D effort over the last 12 months or so. E3 Designers played a key role in hardware design, analog design, DSP architecture, design validation, firmware development and data post-processing. We have been carefully reviewing performance and data results, writing code and taking measurement data, and even writing some Python to post-process embedded ADC data for visualization. In addition, there has been a healthy amount of signal and power integrity analyses going on, looking at DDRx interfaces, high-speed serial interconnect and structure optimization. #embeddedsystems #DSP #signalintegrity #powerintegrity
