Progress isn’t just about the present—it’s about shaping a future where generations to come can thrive. As our founder, Mitch Landrieu, reminds us, history will remember the moments when we chose to do what was right, even when it was hard. Our latest Progress with Purpose report reflects that commitment, highlighting the work we’ve done throughout 2024—from empowering changemakers to fostering impactful narratives. 关于我们
E Pluribus Unum was founded in 2018 by former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu with a mission rooted in the belief that facing what divides us is essential to building a more united future. E Pluribus Unum trains and invests in leaders dedicated to advancing opportunity across the American South and works on narrative change through multimedia campaigns that foster connection across differences. Today, EPU continues to lead the way, developing innovative programs and initiatives that cultivate leaders and communities across the American South, equipping them with tools, programs, and support to bridge divides and foster connections across differences. What sets EPU apart is our deep, data-driven understanding of the region, combined with our commitment to applying behavioral science in ways that drive measurable change and action. EPU applies those insights to narrative change via multimedia campaigns. Together we are rewriting the narratives that perpetuate division and are creating environments where everyone has a fair shot at success. EPU supports policy change by providing valuable frameworks and tools so that a clear roadmap for change can be implemented among a variety of policymakers. By doing this, EPU is helping communities across the South rise to meet today’s challenges while building a foundation for shared prosperity. This is not just work for today but a vision for the future—a future where our interconnectedness becomes our strength, and the promise of out of many, one becomes a reality for all.

Florida has been working for years to crack down on employers that hire undocumented immigrants. But that presented a problem for businesses in the state that are desperate for workers to fill low-wage and often undesirable jobs. Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state legislature have a potential solution: children.

Change is possible, even in the most unexpected ways. Adrianne Black, formerly known as Derek, was raised to be the next leader of the white nationalist movement by their father, a former KKK member. But when Adrianne stepped outside of their bubble and built relationships with people their family taught them to hate, everything changed. Over time, they rejected the ideology they were born into, choosing a different path, and now they are using their voice to dismantle the very movement they were once meant to lead. No ideology is unshakable and exposure to different perspectives can lead to real change. If someone raised in the heart of extremism can unlearn hate, so can society. In the heart of Houston, #Texas, four inspiring eighth-graders from the Young Women's College Preparatory Academy are turning their lived experiences of #HurricaneHarvey into innovative solutions for environmental challenges. Their journey began with the memories of homes flooded in their community, prompting them to design an app that tracks real-time floodwater levels and deploys protective barriers for vulnerable homes. These young women are not only addressing immediate safety concerns, but also paving the way for future generations in STEM fields, where they can lead the charge for environmental action.
