Employee Spotlight: Meet Trenton! Say hello to Trenton Riggs! Originally from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Trenton earned his Associate’s Degree in Health Sciences from Three Rivers College and both his Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies and Occupational Therapy Assistant Degree from Arkansas State University. Dynamic Strides hippotherapy wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic herd of therapy horses! Say hello to Freckles, our oldest horse and longest-standing member of the therapy herd here at Dynamic Strides. Freckles is a Pony of the Americas (POA). With their characteristic spotted coats and smaller stature, POAs stand out in any crowd, but it’s their steadfast personalities that make them truly great partners. POAs are found in all avenues of horse sport, but are particularly great with younger riders due to their confident and calm demeanor. Summertime means outdoor fun for our physical therapy patients! Physical therapy involves working with kids and their families to improve mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. Dynamic Strides offers a range of services for our PT patients, including clinic-based therapy, aquatics, sessions in our sensory gym, and hippotherapy in our indoor arena. Our property also includes 80 acres of outdoor space and a park just across the street. With these activities, we hope to promote active participation and help kids reach their full potential at home, school, and in the community! Patient Spotlight: Meet Sawyer! Sawyer has shown incredible growth in our physical therapy and occupational therapy programs. He loves cookies, his family, and showing his big muscles! Here's what Sawyer’s mom, Val, had to say about their experience at DST: "My boys have been coming to Dynamic Strides for about two years now and our experience has been incredible since the first day we walked through the door. My oldest son, Hudson, is autistic and receives OT and speech. My youngest son, Sawyer, has spina bifida and receives PT and OT, including hippotherapy and aquatic therapy. He is a full-time wheelchair user and they have done such an amazing job working with him to promote independence. We are there three days a week - and sometimes five days during intensive therapy. Every single one of our therapists has gone above and beyond to help my boys thrive, and we absolutely love to be here. The DST team has become like family to us and we adore every single one of them." Employee Spotlight: Meet Rebekah! Dynamic Strides Therapy is excited to welcome Rebekah Sigafus to our occupational therapy treatment team! Rebekah graduated from Ozarks Technical Community College in December of 2020 with her associate’s degree. She initially joined us as a volunteer for our hippotherapy program, where she had so much fun that she decided to come on board full-time! Rebekah has a passion for travel, therapy and animals. Fun fact about Rebekah - she has traveled to England and Scotland and is already planning her next world adventure! Employee Spotlight: Meet Toby! Dynamic Strides Therapy is happy to welcome Toby Cross as our new Program Director! Toby is an Occupational Therapist with 13 years of experience across a variety of settings, including orthopedics, industrial medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, and higher education. She has a passion for equine assisted services (EAS) and has been involved in the industry at various levels for over 25 years. Through her involvement with EAS programs, Toby developed a passion for non-profit leadership and development, spending the past five years growing her expertise in these areas. She is excited to be involved with DST and support the program's continued growth and stability. Toby and her husband recently moved to Southwest Missouri for her husband's job - he works on a cattle facility as the head cowboy! Together, they offer horsemanship, stockmanship, and roping clinics and lessons. Employee Spotlight: Meet Jordan! Join us in giving a warm welcome to Jordan DeVries, the newest member of our Dynamic Strides speech therapy treatment team! Jordan earned her degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2019. She is an energetic and approachable therapist with clinical experience in a wide variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, skilled nursing, and clinics. Her experience spans from newborns to geriatrics, giving her a unique perspective on speech therapy across all ages. Jordan continually seeks out evidence-based practices to benefit her clients and their families, aiming to reduce frustrations and enhance their everyday interactions through improved communication.
