Announcing the School Winners for the Northern Utah NTMA sponsored Skills USA Machining Competition: Congratulations to the Team from Mountainland Technical College for winning first place and the coveted Machining Cup Trophy for the 2024 contest – College Level.?They came in 1st place with 887 points, 2nd Place Bridgerland Technical College, with 857 points and 3rd Place goes to Utah Valley University with 756 points. In the High School Category it was Bridgerland Technical College in first place with 701 points taking the Machining Cup Trophy, 2nd Place goes to Davis Technical College with 680 points and 3rd Place to Northridge High School at 674 points. If you look close you can even see that some of us are having a great time.?This has been a ton of fun and looks to be something to build on for many years. We were even able to present some well earned Northern Utah ntma tokens to Troy Winchester Davis Technical College,Corey Bates Mountainland Technical College,Wes Chambers Bridgerland Technical College We again recognize and thank the many contributions to this cause – The Cause of Manufacturing! At the beginning of June, we welcomed a high school apprentice into our shop through a collaboration with Utah Manufacturers Association, Granite School District, Talent Ready Utah, American Academy of Innovators, and Salt Lake Community College. We are thrilled to have this motivated young man working with us as he accrues shop hours and learns the intricacies of a machine shop. Welcome aboard!
