We were proud to come together with our community to install security cameras?and help protect this Marine Corp Memorial from future vandalism.?
This summer vandals spray painted the United States Marine Corps Memorial (dedicated 1977 by Commandant Wilson to all Marines for all time; to Honor Marines & remember all who serve)! It is YOUR United States Marine Corps Memorial. When news of the event was published by our friends at Fox31, Denver 7, and CBS 4, the response was overwhelming. Day 1 - Scott Kult (a Marine) owner, Colorado Power Clean, Generi Marcelo’s Custom Painting, Richard Blakeman showed up the day of, scrubbed/cleaned all day.?Scott came back and totally cleaned the efflorescence off the memorial.?RIZE Exteriors contacted us to help as well.?They put us in touch with other businesses who wanted to help… Oct 1 - RIZE Exteriors came to coat the Memorial and protect it against future vandalism.?Their employees were so generous and Jessie Clay, the owner and former Navy SEAL, had them get a ladder and take the men’s belt off the Marine Corps Flag (someone threw it up there totally disrespecting the flag’s significance).?Jessie and his team have been great, expecting no recognition at all. ONGOING - Thanks to RIZE Exteriors, several companies are working to put up cameras on the grounds.?Our friend, Jeremy Kellogg at Howell Construction is coordinating the effort aided by Pete Cory at Dynalectric; Brandon Dozier and Seth Southall at Emcor; Tim Schrock and Gary Hartzell at Everon Solutions; and others that I may have forgotten.?If so, I apologize. We at the Foundation are profoundly grateful for the generosity of businesses who stepped up. Join us on November 9th for our Veterans Day Ceremony at 2PM at the Memorial – 16899 W Colfax, Golden, CO. DONATE using the "Buy a Brick" program or simply donate. Any amount helps!
