Nearly two and a half years after the founding of Dovetail Studio, it's time for the next evolution of this grand little experiment. As of this month, Dovetail Studio is shutting its doors, and we are on to new adventures. This week, Brendan Wittstruck started a new chapter as Studio Lead and Associate with Dunaway, where he is excited to work with and learn from an amazing team of civil and structural engineers in Austin and Landscape Architects in Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Midland. Building on his experience leading Dovetail Studio, he'll now set about expanding on Dunaway's trusted work in Austin, while supporting landscape architecture and urban design projects across Texas. Kelsey Ross also began a new role this week at the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department as the Project Coordinator for the Waller Creek District Project; she will work hand-in-hand with the Waterloo Greenway transforming thirty five acres of downtown Austin into a signature park and trail system. We deeply appreciate our clients and allied professionals who have supported our work and believed in us. Brendan will continue to manage our current projects, ensuring a seamless transition for our clients and colleagues. We couldn't have done this without you. Dovetail Studio may be hanging up the spurs, but the spirit that started this firm rides on. We named the practice to be about connections--in pedagogy, in the connection between the natural and built environments; in practice, in our professional relationships; and in craft, in our commitment to details. We remain people for landscape, building landscape for people. And we remain committed to making places of inclusion, access and imagination where our works takes us next. It's been a hell of a ride, and we're only getting started.
