2024 has come to a close and with it, we want to recognize some important milestones from this year.
Several projects completed construction such as The Small Air Terminal and the Small Arms Training Facility at the Mississippi Air National Guard, 172d Airlift Wing in Jackson, MS, several Jackson Public School renovations, Phase I of the Arlington, Texas Museum of Art, the GSA IRS Tenant Improvement Project for Coahoma County in Clarksdale, MS, and the Greenville GSA IRS Renovation in Greenville, MS. We implemented and developed the JPS Repurposing of Closed Schools Program and we celebrated the official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at the Springdale Municipal Complex. We participated in events such as Architect's Newspaper's Facades+ Nashville Event, Architectural League of New York Student Program, Rural Studio's 30th Anniversary Lectures and Workshops Series and their Pig Roast and Valediction Ceremony, AIA Wisconsin, the ACSA 112th Annual Meeting, and the 2024 National AIA Conference in D.C where Shannon Gathings gave a lecture on Achieving Outstanding Design and our firm received the AIA Housing Award at the National Awards Gala. We were featured in a collection of significant publications like Architectural Record's Civic Issue and The Architect's Newspaper Best of 2024. We received noteworthy awards such as the Architect's Newspaper's Best of Practice Award, The American Architecture Award, the AIA Mississippi Award, and the MSU S|ARC Alumni Design Award. We had several exciting milestones this year with our debut book release, Foundations, which included several national book signings, reviews in A Weekly Dose of Architecture Books, World-Architects, Architectural Record's Monograph Roundup, and an interview on Architectural Record's DESIGN:ED Podcast. Our firm welcomed Emily McCranie to our team, and on the local level, our studio hosted its semi-annual Concrete Studio nights, providing an opportunity to connect with and learn from some inspiring creators in our state.
2024 left us with many amazing memories and a long list of goals for 2025. Congratulations to our inspiring clients, consultants, and designers for their outstanding work. Cheers to a new year!
