Making a Big Impact with the Big Sweep! DCLT hosted a successful Creek Cleanup as part of the Big Sweep initiative last month, removing over 400 lbs of trash from a vital green space! Volunteers, alongside DCLT staff, worked tirelessly to restore the creek’s natural beauty. “We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support these efforts,” said Sherry Taylor, DCLT Executive Director. “These events truly showcase the power of community involvement.” A special thank you to our incredible volunteers and Keep Durham Beautiful for making this possible. This weekend, DCLT is offering two exciting opportunities for you to get involved in preserving the vibrant community of Durham, NC, and we are seeking volunteers! On Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., we are hosting Dig for DCLT Day, where you can choose from four properties, including the DCLT office, to help beautify the community. Volunteers will clear walkways of debris, trim bushes, pick up trash, plant flowers in existing flowerbeds, and more.
