The Duravent Group’s introduction into pellet venting came in the late 1980s when approached by Dr. Jerry Whitfield, the inventor of the free-standing, pellet-burning stove, whose Whitfield Pellet Stove later became an industry-leading pellet stove. However, the stove design lacked a venting system to vent the flue gasses, which is where Dura-Vent came in with its L-Vent line for burning oil. With its stainless-steel liner and the addition of a ceramic gasket, our model PVL was born as the first modern pellet vent.
