Many different presentations were made by students from Duquesne University, Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham, University of Pittsburgh, and Robert Morris. We Helped a Laser Engraving Business Purchase a Storefront! Duquesne University Small Business Development Center Success Story Leslie Michielli, owner of Maple & Metal LLC, first came to the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in January of 2024. She was in need of assistance with turning her well established hobby into a full-time business. DUQ SBDC senior business consultant, Denis Olson, began working with Leslie on formulating a business plan, acquiring a resale license, and identifying potential storefronts to purchase in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Fast forward to November of 2024 and Leslie was able to host a grand opening event at her brand-new business location in Etna, PA. Congratulations Leslie and thank you for working with the DUQ SBDC! Helping an Entrepreneur Launch a Digital Platform for Local Businesses! DUQ SBDC Success Story Nick Marziale, founder of Townshare, came to the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) with the primary goal of starting a business. The business consultants at the DUQ SBDC assisted Nick with a business plan and helped him realize that his goal was feasible. Nick then went on to establish Townshare, a unique digital space designed to showcase our nation’s fantastic local/regional businesses, and the communities that support them. With help from an SBA loan, Nick was able to develop the platform and bring his dream to life in the fall of 2024. Congratulations Nick!
