The holidays are here, Pittsburgh! And despite a brief installation delay due to the severe weather across our region this week, Duquesne Light Company’s Three Rivers Tree is shining bright at Point State Park tonight. On behalf of the many people and organizations responsible for bringing this iconic light display to our city, including members of DLC’s Communications and Corporate Responsibility team pictured here, we hope your holiday season is filled with joy, peace and goodwill to all.

We are proud to collaborate with Pittsburgh Water on this incredible initiative. Access to safe water is a fundamental necessity, and reliable power is essential to support it. By partnering together, we can maximize the impact of investments in critical infrastructure, ensuring greater benefits for our shared customers.
Today, Pittsburgh Water flipped the switch to celebrate the new dual power feed installation, completed by Duquesne Light Company, at our Water Treatment Plant ?? Safe and reliable water service certainly requires upgrading aging water pipes, pumps, and tanks, but there are other operational components that matter, too. Dependable, safe power access is a critical part of moving water throughout our hilly city, into homes and businesses ? Pittsburgh Water leadership was joined by Duquesne Light Company Vice President of Energy Policy and General Counsel David Fisfis, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Chairman Stephen DeFrank, City of Pittsburgh Councilperson and board member Erika Staaf Strassburger, and additional members of its Board of Directors. DLC is playing a key role in expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging across Allegheny and Beaver counties. Through our Community Charging Program, we’ve supported the installation of hundreds of new charging station ports in communities throughout the region making driving electric more accessible and convenient for local drivers. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, this expansion is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and supporting the transition to clean transportation options. Today, as we observe Veterans Day, we take a moment to reflect on the courage, resilience and dedication of our veterans, whose service continues to inspire us all.? Earlier today, we hosted our annual Veterans Day Luncheon, proudly organized by A-VETS, our veteran-focused Business Employee Resource Group.? The event featured a keynote address from U.S. Navy Captain Mike Majewski, who also serves as assistant professor of naval science at Penn State. Capt. Majewski shared his personal experiences, and veterans at DLC also took the opportunity to share their stories.? A heartfelt thank you to all veterans, both within and outside of DLC. Let us use today — and every day — as an opportunity to honor the invaluable contributions veterans have made to our safety, security and freedom.?

We are enhancing our grid reliability with the successful installation of new sensors on several circuits. These sensors, part of the Gridware system, provide real-time data to help identify and locate faults more quickly, improving outage response times and reducing downtime. By pinpointing the exact location of issues, DLC crews can be dispatched more efficiently, ensuring faster repairs and better maintenance scheduling. This innovative technology supports our ongoing grid modernization efforts, boosting visibility, reliability, and resiliency. Read more on our newsroom: https://bit.ly/3NZIuKC
