This accolade reflects the city's ongoing success in attracting corporate relocations and expansions, securing a record-breaking 448 qualifying deals in 2022. Meanwhile, downtown Chicago has emerged as "the fastest-growing downtown in the United States," according to the Loop Alliance. Rental occupancy in the Loop rose by 9% from April 2020 through July 2022, even as Illinois' population declined.
