The value that water has in our daily lives is impossible to quantify. Just imagine your faucet running unsafe drinking water or your toilet not flushing? What would a full day of that be like? Today is a day of ACTION, as we raise awareness about the critical role water plays in our lives and the need to invest in our collective water future. Together, we can ensure that clean, accessible water will flow for generations to come. https://lnkd.in/eqG7-T8g #ilwaterambassador

September 16-22 is Pollution Prevention Week! This year’s theme is “Together We Are One Planet.” With just 3% of the world’s water being freshwater, and even less than that being readily accessible to us, it’s important we prioritize our planet’s most precious resource and consciously work to protect it. Below are a few things you can do at home: -Plant trees and plants to prevent erosion -Properly dispose of household chemicals, paint, pet waste, and medication -Don’t dump waste in the water or litter on land -Collect rainwater in a rain barrel to use in your yard #ilwaterambassador
