This #HighFiveFriday we are celebrating an amazing milestone for our clients who have experienced homelessness: Move-In Day! Move-in days mark the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope, stability, and opportunity. It’s a day to honor the strength, resilience, and perseverance that individuals have shown throughout their housing journey. So far in 2025, DuPagePads has assisted with FOUR move-ins into our Supportive Housing program! We are so grateful to our community who come together to make these moves possible. Whether it's through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every contribution has made a difference in the lives of our clients!

It's #WishlistWednesday and here is a friendly reminder that the IHC can always benefit from donations of Hormel Compleats. It's important to be able to provide supplemental meals to the over 300 individuals who are staying with us at the Interim Housing Center! Shelf stable foods like these go a long way towards ensuring no one goes hungry. Thank you!

It’s #HighFiveFriday and today we are sharing joy for our team who helped to perform the county-wide “Point-in-Time (PIT)” count! These outstanding staff members took on the night and helped to assess how many sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals are in our community. This yearly count helps the county to understand what resources are needed for addressing homelessness. Loretta Newsom, DuPagePads Interim Housing Supervisor, shared about her experience performing the PIT count. "For me it was a powerful experience. The PIT count caused me to really focus on the emotional and social aspect of homelessness. The work and effort put into it by all the amazing people on that night was humbling." Incredibly, our team was able to move two individuals into the IHC that same night. We are so proud of and grateful for our team!

One of our favorite things to do is celebrate our amazing volunteers, and today’s #ThankulThursday goes out to them! Help us thank the incredible individuals who choose to spend their time in service of others and helping to further our mission. From sorting clothing donations and packing food to ensuring that every item finds its rightful place, their hard work and compassion shine through in everything they do. Volunteers, it is because of your generosity and commitment that we can provide essential support and comfort to our community!?
