Hey #Frogs! ?? Dunaway will be hopping over to the Texas Christian University College of Engineering's career fair tomorrow, Wednesday, October 2nd! Stop by and learn more about Dunaway's internship program and how you can make a difference with us!

Congratulations to Bexar County on the recent groundbreaking of Phase III of Greenies Urban Farm! Located on the East side of the City of San Antonio in a low-income, urban area, the Urban Farm ‘Greenies' provides a central location with adequate space and facilities for the Ag extension service, which educates Texans in the areas of agriculture, environmental stewardship, health and wellness, youth and adult life skills, human capital and leadership, and community economic development. Dunaway provided #planning + #landscapearchitecture and #civil engineering services on the project. The overall design includes a large demonstration garden area, livestock pens, an orchard, a farmer's market pavilion, an outdoor kitchen, and an event center. This third phase includes a new administration building that will serve as a hub for community education and health programs. We look forward to seeing the progress made as construction continues!

Members from Dunaway's Houston office had a blast at the AIA Sandcastle Competition last weekend! Held annually, The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Sandcastle Competition is a fundraising event for the AIA Houston chapter. The team braved the texas heat and meticulously sculpted their piles of sand into notable and iconic Houston structures, alongside other members of the AEC community. Congratulations to all teams involved!

What a blessing! Congratulations to Summit Center on their grand opening! Located in the City of Midland, Texas, Summit Center is a #mixeduse development including top-of-the-line amenity, office, retail, and dining, with a four-acre destination park at its heart. Dunaway’s designers worked alongside Rhotenberry Wellen Architects and Cosee to master plan and develop a seven-building facility and headquarters for Summit Petroleum. With parking at the perimeter, the buildings all face a central green space with multiple unique gathering spaces. A central snack shack and restroom facility provides a place for respite as visitors explore a natural play space, high point overlook, event lawn and rustic firepit grove. What better way to celebrate #NationalConstructionAppreciationWeek than with a topping out? Members from Dunaway’s structural team had a blast at the topping out of the Baylor Scott & White Health MOB. Located outside of Austin in the City of Pflugerville, Texas, the 85,000-square-foot, three-story building will serve up to 250 patients and comprises clinical and administrative spaces, with the third floor as shell space for future development. Dunaway partnered with Haddon+Cowan Architects to provide #structural engineering design for the new medical office building, which sits adjacent to the existing hospital in Pflugerville. The structure is designed to allow for an additional two stories of vertical expansion, and the facade features a mixture of brick, curtain wall, and stucco elements. Founded in 2018, #NCAW is a week to recognize all workers who help build our communities nationwide. We look forward to seeing the progress made as construction continues on this exciting project.
