Duke was proud to host the inaugural Signing Day event for the 99 rising 9th graders who have accepted admission into DECHS, which is a unique partnership between Duke Health, Durham Technical Community College, and Durham Public Schools. A transformative $29.5 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies will establish the early college where students in grades 9-12 earn the credentials for health care jobs or research roles at Duke upon graduation. This ten-week program beginning in August 11, 2025, is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning the necessary skills to become a pharmacy technician.
