The Sarah P. Duke Gardens are a cherished part of Duke University’s culture. The new Garden Gateway creates a vibrant entrance to the expansive gardens. A natural wood-clad breezeway between the welcome center’s lobby and café forms a grand arrival, guiding visitors from the parking and drop-off areas into a spacious plaza. A perforated metal panel canopy offers cooling shade, inviting moments of repose as visitors prepare to explore the gardens. This initiative embodies a commitment to experiencing nature while fostering learning, community engagement, and celebration within Duke’s cherished botanical oasis. We are thrilled to congratulate Ramsey Robinson, AIA on becoming a licensed architect! This achievement is a testament to her hard work and dedication, from many hours of study and passing six challenging exams, to completing the thousands of hours of hands-on experience required. It’s no small feat, and we’re proud to have her on our team! Congratulations, Ramsey! ?? #LicensedArchitect AIA Triangle
I am very happy to share that I have completed the exam and experience requirements to obtain my license to practice architecture from the State of North Carolina. Thank you to everyone at Duda|Paine Architects for the support and encouragement!

This article written by Robert (Bob) Beck for Office Insight highlights the innovative and sustainable design, as well as the collaborative process that brought Southstone Yards to life: "With Duda|Paine Architects as the design architect and Gensler as the architect of record, the opportunity for internecine strife and disagreements was definitely a possibility. Since the project started in 2021 during pandemic restrictions on travel and gathering in person, many of the meetings during the transition from schematic design to buildable design were held via video conference. But rather than strife, according to every member of the team from Crow Holdings to Duda|Paine to Gensler, this was an unusually effective collaboration that made solving the myriad problems associated with building a mass timber building work smoothly."

I'm excited to head to Asheville for the AIA Aspire Conference this weekend! This will be my second year attending, and I'm looking forward to attending some engaging sessions on challenges and innovations in the Architecture industry, meeting new folks, trying out a few new restaurants and maybe taking a quick dip in the French Broad River. ?? Let me know if you are coming, and hope to see you there! ??

I had a great time at the AIA Triangle Tour of Residential Architecture this weekend! A few of us from Duda|Paine Architects visited a diverse mix of homes, from private residences to Airbnbs and cohousing communities. As someone who hasn't worked on many residential projects, it was interesting to learn about the custom details and challenges in these designs. Big thanks to the talented architects on the tour—Erin Sterling Lewis, FAIA, Kristen M. Hess, FAIA, Alicia Hylton-Daniel, Ellen Weinstein, Megan Casanega Patnaik and Ellen Cassilly —for sharing their work and answering all of our questions! Shoutout to my fellow architects (and my husband) who trekked around the triangle to see these projects: Shannon Robinson, Ramsey Robinson, Hugo P. Siaudzionis, and David Zambrano,!

Principal Sanjeev Patel moderated a panel at Bisnow's "Triangle State of the Market" focused on the exciting progress at Research Triangle Park! It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about upcoming projects in our area and connect with professionals across the real estate industries!
Scott Levitan, our CEO and president, recently spoke at Bisnow’s “Triangle State of the Market” event, a conference focused on real estate and economic development in the Triangle region. During the “Fireside Chat: Research Triangle Park Activity Outlook” session, Scott was joined by industry leaders Katharine Eggleston, PE of GoTriangle and Justin Trowbridge of White Point to discuss the exciting developments taking place at Hub RTP, the Park’s vibrant new downtown district. Hub RTP is poised to become a central gathering place for the next generation of workers, offering 1,200 apartments, a 279-unit Marriot Renaissance RTP hotel, 50K square feet of retail, 1M square feet of office and lab space and more – all within a walkable community. This development is a crucial part of RTP 3.0, the strategic plan guiding the evolution of RTP and outlining advancements for companies within the region over the next 50 years. This plan aims to drive workplace innovation and build a dynamic community across the different nodes of the Park. Thanks to long-term vision initiatives like RTP 3.0, ongoing projects like Hub RTP and partnerships to enhance regional multimodal connectivity, RTP will be well positioned to meet the needs of the 1 million new residents expected in the region by 2050.??? We’re thrilled to see projects like Renaissance RTP, MAA Nixie, Horseshoe RTP and GoTriangle’s Mobility Hub transforming the Park into a true 24-hour destination where people can work, play and stay. For a deep dive of what was discussed, read our most recent article on Bisnow https://lnkd.in/g64bsEeC.

Flexible classroom designs adapt to diverse learning needs, creating dynamic spaces that support a variety of teaching styles. In one room at the NCSSM Morganton campus, students can seamlessly transition from traditional desk setups to hands-on science experiments at lab tables. Another space transforms from a seminar-style classroom to a musical learning space, thanks to versatile tables and seating arrangements. These multipurpose environments ensure that each room can serve multiple functions, allowing educators to tailor the space to their curriculum and students' needs. #K12Design #InnovativeClassrooms #EducationSpaces
