Once an AI model is designed, trained and owned (a new field of IP ownership is developing alongside the surge of AI design and character identity) when the world becomes your playground. With the mind blowing developments of 3D printing and AI modeling, the concept of merchandising enters a new realm. Bruce being a sequence of specific of engineered prompts, it allows our head designer Halim to experiment with Bruce in as many modalities as possible. As you can see from these tester bobble-heads, the emotional resonance that makes us smile when we see Bruce (even as a doll) is still seeded by human creativity. AI didn’t create the sense of joy Bruce brings, we did.

We ran so many test models to get Bruce Ryders complexion, expression, facial structure and essence just right for his and the Ducks Nuts Co brand persona. AI Model Design to THIS degree of intricacy is a creatives DREAM. The technology no longer a hinderence or threat to original craftsmanship but a highly attuned paint brush to enhance it. The tool being coding and prompting - it allowed the visual detail of a character design this granular precision. This process didn’t replace creatives… it recruited them. Bruce is a player, a mover, a swinger, a cruiser and a rider whose here to remind you to ‘LOOSEN UP and grab life by the balls, Ducks Nuts Balls’. Not only is he my greatest creative project to bring to life to date, he’s also Australia’s first openly custom AI generated brand ambassador. Bruce is a combination of the Ducks Nuts ethos, the nostalgic love affair we all have with Australia in its golden retro era of the 70s and 80s and some of the most skilled designers, coders and AI creators from around the world.
