Jaylin Redmond graduated from Dublin High in 2013. While at DHS, Jaylin played varsity football and lacrosse. As a student, he was also actively involved in DECA. Before high school, in his 8th-grade year, his godfather took him on a discovery flight - an introductory flight for people interested in learning about flying. That moment would change his life forever. After graduating from DHS, Jaylin moved to San Diego, where he attended San Diego Community College, and Liberty University, taking accounting and business classes, but it wasn’t a fit. With the passion for flight that was ignited in 8th-grade still burning, he decided to attend Coast Flight Training in San Diego, and his career began to fall into place. He received his pilot's license in 2017 and began pursuing his career, flying for various airlines, including ExpressJet, Hornizon, and Advanced Airlines. In 2023, he accepted the role of First Officer at United Airlines, where he currently flies. In July of 2024, Jaylin was promoted to the Captain’s seat and is currently flying a Boeing 737 out of Newark, NJ. He plans to move into the pilot's seat in a larger aircraft when a seat becomes available. Read the full story at dhs.dublinusd.org/news
