Board of Trustees Announcement From Danielle Dyer, President Board of Trustees, The Dubin Center It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors announces Lynne Thorp’s departure as Executive Director of The Dubin Center effective August 2, 2024. Lynne joined the Dubin Center in 2020 and played a pivotal role during a unique time in the organization’s history by ensuring the continuity of services through COVID and Hurricane Ian. We want to thank her for her dedicated service which involved many significant accomplishments, including: - Spearheading the strategic planning process resulting in a new vision and mission for the agency followed by rebranding, website redesign and full-scale marketing campaign. - Growing revenue through successful fundraising events, campaigns, and grant writing. - Advancing reporting capabilities through financial and operational data migration and capture. - Establishing new partnerships with local community organizations to provide educational and social programming for older adults at risk of isolation. Over the next few months, Lynne will remain as Executive Director and be instrumental in supporting the Board of Trustees in the hiring and onboarding processes. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to continue along this successful trajectory, while maintaining a stable and effective organization.?If you have any questions or concerns during this transition process, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at [email protected]. Sincerely, Danielle Dyer, President Board of Trustees, The Dubin Center From Lynne Thorp, Executive Director, The Dubin Center Southwest Florida is fortunate to have the Dubin Center. Not every area of the state or country has a local resource fully dedicated to providing free assistance to family caregivers navigating a dementia-related condition. It is an invaluable resource for our families, and I am honored to have gotten to know so many incredible caregivers and serve as the Executive Director. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all who have supported the organization and me: staff, board members, community partners, and the generous funders of the Dubin Center. Without you, the organization would not be as strong and vibrant as it is today. I will remain in my position while I work with the Board of Trustees to find a qualified and enthusiastic leader ready to guide the Dubin Center into its third decade of serving family caregivers. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.? With Gratitude, Lynne Thorp, Executive Director

Save the date, March 28th 4:30 - 7pm. Brushstrokes from the Soul in Fort Myers, Florida https://lnkd.in/devdc32C
Paintings are arriving at The Dubin Center from local artists who are living with dementia. They will be on display at Clive Daniel Home, LLC in March for our fundraiser. This one caught my eye. I love the color and use of movement. Many of our clients lose their ability to communicate with words. The artist, Sally, wants help naming her painting. Any ideas?
