Nova crafted sustainable panels combined with our innovative finishes, which were then finished during a hands-on training session provided by Cooloo. These panels were displayed at Colab, Dubai’s local materials bank and the only one in the region. As we reflect on Dubai Design Week, visitors had the chance to immerse themselves in large-scale installations, develop skills across all design disciplines with workshops in the Maker Space, and participate in thought-provoking talks and interactive experiences. We are storytellers.” We’re excited to share a glimpse from “Freedom By Design,” a short film by Womena that premiered during our exhibit curated by Rythma Ekanayake at Dubai Design Week 2024. This film invites viewers on an immersive, seven-minute audio-visual journey into the world of Womena. Marking our 10th anniversary, it is a compilation of seven years of interviews and content celebrating women empowerment, communal resilience, and self-expression–standing as a testament to the transformative power of storytelling. ?? "Tbaba" is a tribute to the UAE's pearl diving heritage and the enduring spirit of the Arabian Gulf, designed by Gerald Jason Cruz and Roudhah Al Mazrouei. This minimalist installation, crafted from scaffolding and red fabric, captured the rhythmic movement of the sea and highlighted the significance of the red cloth. Walking through this shaded, dynamic passageway evoked a sense of cultural legacy and collective effort. #DXBDW24? ? Dubai Holding Entertainment in partnership with Canadian University Dubai, unveiled ‘Shelter of Inclusivity’, a space dedicated to accessibility and in recognition of People of Determination. Every element was carefully designed to prioritise accessibility.
