Congratulations to our employees Sandra Sanchez and Suzy Castellanos for participating in a hearing at the California State Capitol today. They’re fighting for farm workers and farmers to create a tax credit for ag overtime. Senator Shannon Grove’s bill, SB 628, would have helped farmers offset the cost of overtime and would have created higher earnings for farm workers. It was defeated in the ag committee on a party line vote 4-1. The fight goes on, and we are proud of our team for standing up for California ag and farm workers!

We tested the Yorizane almond's self-pollinization by netting off one tree before bloom, and now it's time to share the first results! Based on the observations made by Isaac and John Duarte, it seems like while the Yorizane is self-pollinizing and does not require bees to produce nuts, farmers will likely see a stronger crop if they add a small amount of bee hives during bloom.
