As part of our commitment to integrated healthcare, we’re highlighting November as National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time when communities across the country seek to bring attention to diabetes. This year’s focus is on taking action to prevent diabetes health problems. Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. It affects about 38 million Americans, including adults and youth. Diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer. National Gratitude Month is celebrated in?November?each year.?Gratitude is the simplest way to change one’s perspective of the world. It allows us to appreciate the positive, rather than focus on the negative aspects of our lives. Learning to be grateful helps us appreciate the little things in life that we tend to take for granted. Gratitude has been proven to generate a positive impact on psychological, physical, and personal wellbeing. Practicing gratitude or reflecting on what you’re grateful for is an effective way to deal with life’s chaotic, stressful and tense moments. Grateful people tend to sleep better, have lower stress levels, exercise more often, and eat healthier. #NationalGratitudeMonth??

This Veterans Day, WestBridge wants to thank all participants, families, staff members and others who have shown their love for our nation through service. Your time, bravery, strength and dedication have not gone unnoticed. We are forever grateful for the sacrifices you have made and will always appreciate all that you have given us. As we reflect on the significance of this day, we are proud that our program is able to treat Veterans, so that we may, in turn, support those who have served to protect our nation.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. At WestBridge we are committed to integrated healthcare, and treating Veterans as well as civilians. Did you know that almost 8,000 Veterans are diagnosed with lung cancer each year? Lung cancer is one of the most prevalent and deadliest cancers among Veterans. Risk factors include a history of smoking, exposure to environmental hazards during or after military service, and age. Early detection can be a pivotal factor in improving outcomes for our Veterans. Don’t wait - take control of your future. https://lnkd.in/e8hiXnBT #VeteransHealth #LungCancerScreening #EarlyDetection
