DTRE’s Tom Fairlie and Jamie Durrant were on site last week to see the construction progress of MPN 761 at Magna Park in Lutterworth. As you can see, construction of this speculative development is progressing well, with steels almost finished, the concrete slab being poured, and GLP’s highly recognisable cladding starting to be installed. MPN 761 will target a BREEAM Outstanding environmental certification, and the overall scheme is targeting net-zero in development verified by Planet Mark. We were shown the importance of collecting quality data on a frequent basis to prove that targets are being met. A common misconception is that an asset can achieve Net Zero in the same way it might achieve BREEAM (get the certificate and move on) – this is simply not the case and it is clear that operating a Net Zero capable asset is a constantly evolving challenge. ? An insightful day focused on sustainable practices in action – an exemplary sustainable product at work. Our key highlights: ?? Whole Life Carbon Assessments undertaken on not only base build construction but all tenant fit outs. ?? Phase 2 PV solar arrays producing a combined 907kw (peak) output of electricity – most tenants will enjoy off-grid operations for the majority of the year. ??
