What an incredible event! A huge thank you to Urban Land Institute and the amazing leaders, speakers, and organizers who made the Housing Opportunity Conference such a success. We are grateful to reconnect with old friends and forge new connections. Events like this truly highlight the power of collaboration in shaping stronger, more vibrant communities. Looking forward to continuing these important conversations!
Yesterday, we wrapped up the Urban Land Institute Housing Opportunity Conference - an event that was months in the making, with contributions from so many inside and outside of ULI. This conference exemplifies what makes ULI so special - our staff and members working side by side, bringing ULI’s mission to life at the local level. It’s a space where we can learn from one another, elevate the work of both public and private sector leaders, and take actionable insights back to the communities we love and call home. Atlanta truly shined this week! ? None of this would have been possible without the incredible partnership of the ULI Terwilliger Center, led by Rosemarie Hepner and her powerhouse team, Fabiola Alvarez Yurcisin, AICP, Deborah Myerson, AICP, and Sarah Young. Our meetings team including Rebecca Hill, CMP and Clare Moore helped with the heavy lift of making the conference logistics flawless. On the ULI Atlanta side, so many of our leaders stepped up to shape programming and tours, including Adetayo Sanusi, Amanda Rhein, Faron A. Hill, Tyrone Rachal, Lisa Y. Benjamin, Rick Porter, Bruce Gunter, Jennifer Ball, and Alena Green. Our dedicated ULI Atlanta staff - Lance Morsell, MPA, Barbra Hardy, and Austin Combs worked tirelessly to bring it all together. I couldn’t be more proud or grateful for what we accomplished! Some key highlights: ? Record attendance - 575 people joined us in Atlanta this year! ? The program included 33 Atlanta-based speakers, including 7 incredible keynote speakers: Raphael Bostic, Courtney English, Renee Glover, Joshua Humphries, Egbert Perry, and Rose Scott. ? We showcased 4 tours illuminating transformational projects across downtown Atlanta, the MLK Historic District and Sweet Auburn, the Atlanta BeltLine, and Trilith. Huge thanks to our tour leaders and staff for making these happen! ? The closing reception showed off 505 Cortland - thanks to Patrick Kassin and our friends at Woodfield Development for hosting us! ? A personal highlight - reconnected with an old friend Sharon Carney from my Urban Institute days. After years apart, catching up was good for the soul! To everyone who played a role - thank you! Your dedication to advancing housing opportunity, economic mobility, and building stronger communities inspires me every day! #ULIHousing #Atlanta #ULI #HousingOpportunity #CommunityImpact
