Nearly 100 DTE lineman, in addition to 500 of our contract crews and tree trimmers, are in areas hardest hit by Hurricane Helene. We know that one of the first steps to recovery for communities affected is restoration of their power, so our teams are working to help our fellow utilities get the lights back on as quickly and safely as possible. Watch and see what our team is facing as they begin the work, 16 hours a day, to restore power in the Greater Augusta area of northern Georgia. And to our teams in the disaster zones – and all utility workers restoring power after Hurricane Helene hit – be safe. We can’t wait to welcome you home.

To celebrate and honor our military heroes across our company this week for Veterans Day, we’re sharing a story of two DTE employees, Steve Fitzpatrick and Keilyn Carpenter. Steve served in the U.S. Navy for seven years and is a DTE plant manager in Lansing. Keilyn is interning with our corporate communications team and is a graduating senior on Wayne State University’s women’s volleyball team. Steve coached Keilyn early in her volleyball career and she attributes her athletic success to his leadership and guidance over the last decade. Last week, they reconnected and enjoyed a full circle moment as coworkers at DTE’s Veteran’s Day celebratory luncheon.

On Thursday, Veterans, supporters and executives throughout our company came together to celebrate #VeteransDay. Our VETS energy group honored two employees, Alex Campbell and Neil McKenna, with the Mike Baum Service Award, which recognizes DTE employees who are Veterans or Allies that have made a significant impact on the veteran community or displayed exceptional efforts to serve Veterans. The VETS also awarded DTE Foundation grants to the Fisher House Michigan and 92 for 22. On Veterans Day and every day, we’re grateful for all our VETS for their service.

DTE's involvement with the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership and the planting of 25,000 trees in Detroit exemplifies our mission to improve lives with energy and care for the communities where we live and serve. Learn more about this work: https://lnkd.in/ecnZMdNf
The writer Louise Dickinson Rich once said "I feel a great regard for trees; they represent age and beauty and the miracles of life and growth." Those words rang true for me and other community leaders who celebrated the planting of the 25,000th tree by the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership this week. It’s a collaboration with DTE Energy, the City of Detroit and Greening of Detroit with a goal of planting 75,000 trees in the city by the end of 2027. We’re well on our way to achieving that goal. These trees capture carbon dioxide and provide cooling shade in the heat of summer. Learn more about our work with the Detroit Tree Equity Partnership here:?https://lnkd.in/e7YC53YT
