This week, we hosted our bi-annual Asset Services Forum in Jersey City to provide clients with a look at how DTCC is transforming asset services at the depository. Highlights from the event panels and breakout sessions include: “We encourage input from our industry partners,” said Ann Marie Bria, DTCC Managing Director, Asset Services, as she introduced the event. “Our yearly forums are an opportunity to present our solutions, but also to hear directly from you, our clients and partners. Believe me when I say – we really want the feedback.” A panel on “Digitization as a Springboard,” moderated by Pat Barthel, Executive Director, DTCC Asset Services, who discussed how high-quality data – and consistency – can improve the full custody chain, from cradle to grave. Christopher S., Executive Director, DTCC Asset Services, moderated a breakout session for clients to discuss and put forth some new ideas on the theme of digitization. “We acknowledge the greatest value we can provide is, ‘what more can we do?’” said Scotto. “We are in a very unique position to create standardization – to make the requests, and get it approved.” In collaboration with partners at The ValueExchange, DTCC recently co-sponsored an industry-wide survey to gain insight into areas that DTCC’s partners can focus to further automate Corporate Actions processing across the globe. In a discussion moderated by Matt Schill, DTCC Sr. Product Director, panelists explored some of the findings and themes in the survey, and how digitization is revolutionizing the announcement sourcing process. “The insights show the importance of connecting and collaborating with the industry,” he said. “With a more holistic picture of our collective challenges, we can better work together to address these challenges.” DTC is developing an Agent Announcement Portal for the submission of corporate action announcements that will enable Agents, Issuers, and other third-party stakeholders to submit standardized corporate action event information via a modernized interface. A walkthrough of the portal was demonstrated in a break-out session by DTCC’s Sara Genovese and Danielle Jessup.
