  • 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗥&𝗗 𝗧𝗮𝘅 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁? Effective for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2025, Michigan taxpayers who engage in qualified research activities within the state are eligible for a non-refundable R&D tax credit. The amount of credit available depends on the size of the taxpayer’s workforce and the extent of collaboration with a Michigan research university. Find out how to qualify in our new article.

  • 𝗜𝗥𝗦 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀: 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝘅𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 The IRS has launched three pilot programs aimed at enhancing its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes. These initiatives focus on the Fast Track Settlement (FTS) and Post-Appeals Mediation (PAM) programs, providing taxpayers with more efficient options for resolving disputes without litigation. These programs are 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, meaning that if a resolution is not reached, taxpayers still retain the right to pursue a traditional appeal. By expanding these programs, the IRS aims to make ADR more accessible and efficient, encouraging taxpayers to consider early resolution options rather than going through a lengthy litigation or appeals process. The expiration of key provisions in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), ongoing bipartisan discussions, and the priorities of the new administration will shape the trajectory of Section 174 immediate expensing, the Section 41 credit, and broader tax policies affecting U.S. manufacturers. #randdtaxcredit #researchtaxcredit
