DSM Children's Museum

We have been getting MANY questions lately and we are beyond excited for our plans for 2025. We knew the sale of the mall was coming and have been preparing behind the scenes for months now. We plan to be out of our current location by the end of year and have contingency plans in place should we need to be out immediately. Our goal is to always be open and available for our community and continue our mission to build the foundation of lifelong learning through the power of play. We are happy to answer any questions. Last weekend we held our annual Halloween Party Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. To put it into words, it was nothing short of magical. We never quite know what to expect with Halloween - it's usually a wild ride. This year we had beautiful weather and our indoor party was completely chill (or as chill as it can get with 100+ kids). We had the opportunity to chat with (nearly) every guest and family that visited, see little moments between guests, and play.

I love when I get to work on the floor. So glad so many families came and played.

The maze is open!

Last night the exhibit gnome and friend were busy. Thank you to the lovely family that thought of us for this wonderful donation. Next up FINISH the maze. I heard kids heckling the exhibit gnome yesterday. I have to admit I laughed. -Julie

When a water table artist called and offered us a spectacular deal on a water table, we quickly began fundraising and said yes! We have been beyond lucky to call Valley West Mall our home for the last seven years, but seven years has given us a lot of growth and we have big plans for the coming year. Last Saturday we seemed to be everywhere: Primrose School of Urbandale, riding like witches in the Windsor Heights Fall Parade, and admiring the new and improved Colby Park. Thank you for having us at your events!
