A solar array is an investment. And like any technology, especially one that is expected to perform for 20+ years, a solar installation needs to be monitored and maintained. Operation and maintenance (O&M) of a solar asset — also known as “asset management” — is about more than just keeping the renewable energy equipment operational. It’s about maximizing the potential of the asset at all times by tracking data, analyzing it, and making the necessary adjustments. Taking preventive measures at key points in the solar array’s lifecycle is paramount. As a trusted, long-term partner, DSD provides a strong O&M support team that conducts consistent monitoring, plans for contingencies, and handles all preventative care to ensure the maximum return on your solar investment. National Lutheran Communities & Services is committed to improving and fostering an environmental of well-being for the communities it serves. The installation at The Village at Orchard Ridge is the first behind-the-meter solar project built for a not-for-profit organization in Virginia. This project meets 85% of the community’s energy needs by producing an estimated 2,396 MWh of energy per year. That is the equivalent of powering up to 330 homes annually. This project helps support NLCS’s ethical and financial goals, establishes the brand as a sustainability leader within its industry, and gives residents and staff at The Village at Orchard Ridge one more reason to be proud of living in a housing facility that promotes sustainable solar solutions.
