Thank you to Working Spaces for hosting Design Studio Blue at the 8th annual Women In Healthcare Golf Tournament. Our golf pros, Emily Zabel and Jennifer Perlow joined industry partners Katrina and Megan with Working Spaces for a fun day of networking for a good cause. We were happy to be able to help raise money for Brent’s Place, a not-for-profit providing long-term housing for families experiencing cancer or other life-threatening illness. Thank you to MKM-build photography for the group photo! #womeninhealthcaredenver #designstudioblue

We have been installing a very special project for the last month. Today we wanted to show you the process about the suspended lobby sculpture. We started over a year ago, it starts with a look book. This is large group of works based on conversations we have had with the client, the space, and the budget. For this client we showed over 40 different pieces. We want to cast a wide net so we can get feedback on what the client likes, doesn’t like, and most importantly LOVES. Then we narrow the field down and show artists whose work matches the pieces that the client loved. We still want to show way more options that we need at this point. Then the client narrows the selections down to two or three. These artists are paid a design fee to create a sight specific design. Each artist got to come present their designs to the client. One artists is selected, adjustments can be made in the design. Then there are LOTS of meetings. After many many months of planning, we finally get to installation. It took four days to install the 110 acrylic pieces in this suspended lobby sculpture. It was so fun to watch it go up. This piece is spectacular. It fills the space perfectly and is the right balance of color and transparency. It has a beautiful interplay in the space, creating fun reflections off nearby glass and beautiful shadows on the floor. It was a pleasure to work with Lynell and Lutheran Hospital on this piece. #artinhealthcare?#designstudioblueartservices?#thefutureoflutheran?#artconsultingprocess

Throwback Thursday to 4 years ago when the Claire's Place playroom opened at UMC Children's Hospital in Las Vegas. It was Claire's dream and personal plans for this project that brought it to fruition, though she was not alive to see the final result, she was involved with designing it to be carefully crafted to meet the unique needs of children who spend extended periods of time in the hospital. We were honored to be a part of this unique and special project. #ClaireWineland #Clairesplacefoundation #UMCLasVegas #Designstudioblue #Designwithheart

We are always finding and adding new artists to our database. Recently, Stephanie Aguilar added her work for our consideration. We are so intrigued by the pieces she uploaded that we spent some time on her website and fell in love with “Twin Peaks”. How fun are these baby goats? May FUN be with you. #discoveringnewartists
