Please join us in welcoming Nathan D. Zgnilec to our team as a Project Manager based in southeast Michigan! Nathan is a civil and environmental engineer with nearly a decade of experience in collection systems modeling, management, and planning across the Midwest. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Tech University. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, exploring northern Michigan (before you ask, the picture is not Michigan - we don't have tides in the Great Lakes), and woodworking. #CoolPeopleCoolProjects #SDVOSB #HereWeGrow #Michigan

Thank you to Florida Water Environment Association - FWEA for putting on this informative seminar on PFAS/PFOA!
Chad Drummond, PE, D.WRE, BCEE and Aubrey Litzinger, E.I. recently attended the "PFAS in Water and Wastewater Sectors: Solutions for a Healthier Tomorrow" seminar in Miami. This event provided valuable insights into the latest strategies for managing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in our water systems. Particularly interesting were presentations on the latest research on PFOA/PFAS leaching from sludge. At Drummond Carpenter, we are committed to staying at the forefront of environmental engineering to offer innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Our team's participation in such events ensures we remain equipped with the knowledge to tackle emerging challenges in water quality and environmental engineering. Check out this team of coding, analytics, and ecological gurus that won 1st place in the Hack the Bay competition. Awesome job! #ProtectTampaBay #SDVOSB #CoolPeopleCoolProjects
?? We’re thrilled to announce that the Drummond Carpenter team won the inaugural Hack the Bay event hosted by the Tampa Bay Estuary Program! ?? ? Using open-source tools and data, our team evaluated invasive species data and ecological landscape value indicators to develop two impactful tools: ?? A report card assessing invasive species abundance and richness by year and bay segment. ?? An interactive dashboard empowering researchers to prioritize locations for invasive species management and restoration activities. ? This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and innovation of our incredible team of hackers: Aubrey Litzinger, E.I., Joshua "Bud" Davis, PhD, PG, Callie Hathorn, WPIT, and Emily Hartdegen. ? We extend our gratitude to the Tampa Bay Estuary Program for organizing such an inspiring event and for fostering collaboration and creativity in tackling real-world environmental challenges. We’re excited to see how these tools can contribute to preserving the ecological health of Tampa Bay and look forward to participating in future data challenges and collaborative opportunities! #HackTheBay #DrummondCarpenter #InvasiveSpecies #EnvironmentalInnovation #Collaboration #SDVOSB
