"Building Resilience: The Role of Leadership and Experience in Disaster Response" Understanding what it takes for Drone America to deliver effective disaster response teams requires time, experience, and dedication. Our insights are built on the knowledge of those with years of hands-on operational experience, and while we continue to learn and adapt, our goal remains clear: to grow into a stronger company, capable of deploying UAS (Uncrewed Aircraft Systems) and skilled personnel to meet the challenges of any situation. In moments of crisis, the role of leadership becomes even more critical. It’s not just about making tough decisions; it’s about providing direction, maintaining calm under pressure, and inspiring a team to push through adversity. Whether it’s a fire chief coordinating a complex rescue, a hospital director leading during a surge, or a team leader ensuring everyone stays safe during a disaster—these leaders become the steady hands that guide us through uncertainty. True leaders don’t just manage situations; they inspire and empower those around them to give their best when it matters most. In life-saving fields, where every decision can have far-reaching consequences, effective leadership often makes the difference between hope and despair. We are eager to connect with potential investors, partners, and operators to ensure we are always ready to answer the call when it matters most. #EmergencyResponse #DisasterRelief #PublicSafety #DisasterManagement #UAS #DroneTechnology #FAABeyond #FAADroneSafety #DroneOperators #VeteransInTech #FireRescue #EMS #PoliceSupport #SheriffDepartment #SearchAndRescue #FirstResponders #DronesForGood #CommunityResilience #CriticalInfrastructure #TechForGood #ResiliencePlanning #HomelandSecurity #PublicSafetyLeadership #EmergencyPreparedness #DroneAmerica #Florida #NorthCarolina

Passion vs. Presence: Why Drive Makes a Difference in Life-Saving Professions In my experience, I’ve observed two types of professionals: those who are deeply passionate about their work and those who show up, fulfilling their duties but without that extra spark. Both types have their place in the world, but when it comes to life-saving occupations, the difference passion can make is profound. In fields like emergency response, healthcare, and public safety, having a genuine drive and enthusiasm often means going above and beyond. It’s the paramedic who stays late to ensure a patient is stabilized, the firefighter who takes that extra training session, the police officer who stands watch during the toughest moments, or the sheriff who puts in long hours to protect the community. These are the individuals whose commitment can make the difference between a good outcome and a great one. But it's important to note that not every role in every field requires this level of intensity, and that’s okay. Each person contributes in their own way. Yet, for those who find their purpose in these high-stakes environments, their passion becomes a powerful tool that not only drives their own success but can truly save lives. Today, there’s an amazing amount of this passion out there, and it’s inspiring to see it in action. To all those who go the extra mile—staying awake through the long nights, facing danger head-on, and giving everything they have to keep others safe—thank you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you tonight, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering dedication. "Navigating the Unseen: The Impact of Solar Flares on Drone Operations" Important Alert for GPS Users and Drone Operators: Navigating the Current Solar Storm. As we experience a significant solar storm on May 10, 2024, I want to share crucial information for everyone relying on GPS for precise timing and location, courtesy of Ken Andrew, an RF Engineer specializing in UAV/UAS communications at NLOS Wireless. Currently, the Earth is witnessing a substantial influx of solar flares, which are disrupting the upper Ionosphere and significantly impacting GPS signals. This disturbance is causing GPS locations to be inaccurately displayed, with errors as large as 80 feet or more in location accuracy. For instance, my own iPhone 14, usually accurate within +/- 5 feet inside my home, now shows my location across the street and adds an 80-foot error. For UAV/UAS operators, this presents a serious risk. The spatial disorientation caused by these solar flares could result in incorrect reporting of both horizontal (X/Y) and vertical (Z) positions. The error in altitude could be even more pronounced, potentially 2X or 3X the norm. Given that drones are generally restricted to 400 feet above ground level, the risk to property and safety could be substantial. Immediate Advisory: Avoid flying commercial drones unless they are within 50 feet and in direct line of sight to mitigate risk. Keep monitoring the NOAA GPS Dashboard for real-time updates on the severity of this solar activity, which can rapidly escalate: NOAA GPS Community Dashboard. Stay safe and ensure continuous checking of the R/S/G indicators, particularly when they reach level 3 and are predicted to worsen. For more detailed insights and guidance, feel free to contact Ken Andrew at [email protected] or visit NLOS Wireless. Stay informed and fly safely! #GPSAccuracy #SolarFlares #DroneSafety #UAVTechnology #Geospatial #SpaceWeather #EmergencyPreparedness #RFEngineering #AerospaceEngineering #UnmannedSystems #dorneamerica #UAS #GPS #NLOSwireless #kenandrew

Exploring the Future of UAS Autonomy with the FAA BEYOND Program. I'm thrilled to share an update on a significant initiative that positions us at the forefront of advancing UAS technology and regulatory frameworks. Together with the City of Reno and under the guidance of the FAA's BEYOND program, Drone America and partners are actively participating in pioneering efforts to establish rules for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations. This work is crucial as we move closer to realizing a fully autonomous UAS airspace. A huge thank you to the City of Reno and the FAA's BEYOND team for their relentless dedication and partnership. We are proud to be a part of this trailblazing journey.
