Last week, Tampa International Airport (TPA) was recognized for our updated Sustainable Management Plan at this year’s Airports Going Green? conference. In addition to moderating a panel on airport climate and resileince planning, we had an amazing time learning and celebrating with our peer airports and colleagues. A big thank you to Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports, Brian Kalish, Samantha Wittie and the AAAE team, and Daniel Guico and team for putting on such a successful conference. On to Tampa next year!

Now we're talking! This is an example of the innovation investor-owned #utilites are positioned to pilot and scale. This charging hub will serve light, medium, and heavy-duty electric fleet vehicles. It is located near Daimler Truck North America's manufacturing center to enable testing and demonstration. The microgrid includes #solar, #batteries, #hydrogen, and #evcharging infrastructure, including two lever-2 chargers to four 120 kW to 300 kW fast chargers. The configuration will test and validate software and system interoperability to bolster confidence in the commercial fleet market. Congrats to Duke Energy Corporation and Electrada for designing and installing this complex project. I look forward to seeing what is learned, especially evidence from fleet operators that supports the case to regulators that rate-based investments like this, which advance transportation electrification and, in turn, open new sources of utility revenues, will pay ratepayers back dividends in the form of downward pressure on rising electricity rates, while also reducing tailpipe pollution, improving public health and addressing the #climatecrisis. #electricvehicles #ev #climateaction #cleanenergygeneration

Reflecting on an inspiring day at the Poder LatinX event! ????? We connected with so many community members and local businesses, diving deep into conversations around EVs and uncovering some common misconceptions. Here’s what we heard: ?? Concern about EV fires – Many attendees saw this as a big barrier, but we shared how EV fires are actually rarer than incidents with traditional vehicles. ?? Cost & Accessibility – People assumed EVs were out of reach, but we highlighted the growing affordable used EV market and the decreasing prices of light-duty models. ?? Charging Worries – Charging turned out to be easier to explain than most expected, especially with more options than ever. ?? Range Anxiety – Many were surprised to realize that their driving needs align well with typical EV ranges. Thank you to everyone who came out and took part in these meaningful conversations! Together, we’re building a more informed and empowered EV community. #PoderLatinX #EVCommunity #DriveElectric
