Congratulations to the City of Louisville, Colorado for joining the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Charging Smart program! Drive Clean Colorado is proud to support Louisville this initiative by providing technical assistance as they implement best practices to achieve their EV-readiness goals. As part of the Founding Colorado Cohort, Louisville will participate in monthly peer-sharing discussions with other local governments, exchanging lessons learned and strategies for EV readiness. They are also on track to become one of the first municipalities in Colorado to earn the nationally recognized Charging Smart designation. Keep up the great work, Louisville! The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Energy Careers for All (CEC4A) program is now open! CEC4A aims to build a diverse clean energy workforce by supporting various groups within STEM fields. The program will provide nearly $3 million to non-profit educational organizations to promote awareness and interest in clean energy careers. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will host an informational webinar this week, on October 16, to provide details on the scope and intent of the opportunity. Recently, Governor Polis signed a proclamation declaring October 8th as Hydrogen Day in the State of Colorado! We are thrilled to see such support for clean transportation and alternative fuels in our state. In light of Hydrogen Day, Drive Clean Colorado will be attending the Colorado Hydrogen Network's showcase on October 6th in Denver, so be sure to say hello to our team while there. We’re also hosting a Hydrogen Day Roundtable on October 8th in partnership with Element One Energy. There will be both virtual and in-person attendance options, with an opportunity to tour the Element One Energy facility in Colorado Springs. We look forward to discussing the future of hydrogen as a fuel source in Colorado, sharing available funding for hydrogen vehicles and infrastructure, and hearing from industry leaders including Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, New Day Hydrogen, Inc., and Rising Creek Transportation. Carsharing can be a great solution for urban areas where parking is limited and car use is occasional. Programs like Colorado CarShare, a DCC member, are also electrifying their fleets, helping to further reduce emissions and advance clean transportation in Colorado.
