Last month, as part of a $521 million federal grant for #EVcharging infrastructure across the country, The State of New York received $15 million to build 600 EV charging stations. A sure fire way to solving emissions issues in a densely populated city is by making EV charging more accessible and cost effective for all. New charging ports have the potential to offer drivers rates as low as $2.50/hr during the day and $1/hr overnight at curbside charging ports. Other major U.S. cities like San Francisco and Boston have plans to follow suit with similar curbside programs, another sign of momentum in the full transition to EVs. https://hubs.ly/Q02RsF1c0 #GridPower

Today, while only 14 percent of fleets operate EV vehicles, over 87 percent of fleet managers believe they will operate #EVs in the next five years. The benefits of EVs in fleets cannot be understated. From lower long-term costs and carbon emissions reductions, to future-proofing ahead of bans on internal combustion engines. EVs will be an important part of the transportation future for many fleet operators. The goal of building 500,000 new chargers by the end of the decade in the US took another step closer in Q2 of 2024. The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation reports that in Q2 approximately 9,000 ports were added, bringing the total publicly available Level 2 or DC charging ports in the US to over 192,000. Another positive step and continued progress in development provided by the #NEVI program. https://hubs.ly/Q02RsFTk0 #EVTransition #EVSoftware

A new expansion tax credit in the United States may make adopting an EV charging a whole lot easier to consumers. Through the Inflation Reduction Act, EV stakeholders will have the opportunity to build new charging ports by tapping into a new tax credit that will support EV charging network expansion. The tax credit provides 30 percent savings off the cost of installing the charger, up to $100,000, for companies installing EV charging solutions. The IRA has also earmarked credits for Individuals to claim the credit for 30 percent of their costs, up to $1,000 per port. That's the type of financial impact that can result in huge savings for consumers and companies alike. https://hubs.ly/Q02Rt8Dj0 #EVChargingInfrastructure #EVTransition

Range and charger anxieties are down amongst US drivers with 24% of potential EV buyers citing range constraints as a top concern, which is down from 30% from 2023. Today only 23% of drivers are concerned about finding a place to plug in, down from 34% from last year. A positive sign that the expansion and reliability of the US’s EV charging infrastructure network is curbing concerns of EV adoption by consumers.
