This magic pen, which is actually an advanced computer program, assists an AI artist in illustrating characters in a story. However, there's a balance to strike. If we micromanage every detail of the illustration, the digital artist's creativity can be hampered. It's akin to dictating to an artist not only what to paint but also how to handle their brush—too many directives can suppress creativity. There's an ideal balance where the artist retains enough freedom to be inventive while still adhering closely to the story's narrative. I've streamlined this entire process, enabling the production of beautifully illustrated storybooks in PDF format, all without sacrificing the essence of creativity. https://dreamstories.ai ???? Under the hood (data scientist-friendly version): I've developed a series of pipelines to fine-tune Stable Diffusion XL using a technique called LoRA, which generates a smaller model for each character in the story. This model runs Stable Diffusion XL to create personalized illustrations and uses ControlNet to accurately place and pose the character within the scene. Finally, I've automated the process of combining the illustrations with the text into a PDF. There's always a tradeoff between creativity and precision. The more precise you want the illustration to be (e.g., deciding where to place the character), the less creative the AI can be. This is because the model loses focus; in other words, it needs to spread more of its attention.
