关于我们

Dream Foundation is the only national organization that serves end-of-life Dreams for terminally-ill adults and their families, including veterans. Dreams come in many forms, but all of them provide inspiration, comfort and closure. We arrange family reunions, special trips that provide a much-needed respite or meetings with personal heroes. Veterans often want to reconnect with aspects of their previous military lives or visit monuments and memorials that have a special significance for them. We also deliver bouquets and gifts to people in need of comfort and cheer in Santa Barbara County through our Flower Empower program. Everything that we do is made possible by a dedicated community of individual supporters, volunteers, health care organizations, hospices and corporate sponsors who help in many ways, from donating funds to running fundraisers, arranging workplace giving, assembling and delivering bouquets or offering their professional photography skills. Each has played a crucial role in the 33,000 Dreams fulfilled over the past twenty-seven years. Take on the challenge of a lifetime by running in this year’s Berlin Marathon in September or the 50th Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC, this October, as part of Dream Foundation’s Dream Challenge Team. Raise funds to help make the final dreams of terminally-ill veterans come true. The Berlin Marathon starts and ends near the iconic Brandenburg Gate, and runners say it has a carnival-like atmosphere. Entry is by lottery, and the lottery is now closed—but you can still run as part of Dream Foundation’s Dream Challenge Team! In the Marine Corps Marathon, you’ll run through cheering crowds past the National Mall, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Hill, and the Marine Corps War Memorial. Because it’s organized by the Marines, the MCM has a unique “esprit de corps” that sets it apart from any other race. And with this year marking its 50th anniversary, it’s bound to be extra special. If you can’t run in person, the MCM also offers a Virtual 10K, so you can participate from anywhere. Plus, you can now turn any challenge into a fundraiser for Dreams or Dreams for Veterans. You can see the full list of Dream Challenge Team challenges and all the details at https://lnkd.in/gR_w38Kh #DreamFoundation #RunWiththeMarines #BerlinMarathon #Berlinlegend #marathon #running #run #runner #marathontraining #runningmotivation #runners #veterans #runnersofinstagram

  • Erica is facing the end of her life at just 24 – and her bravery is so moving. She says, “I just want to be able to live in the movement, even if it’s for a brief time.” Thank you to all of our incredible supporters for helping her take her Dream trip to San Diego with her boyfriend. She says, “We had such an amazing time … the trip was definitely a Dream and I cannot express how appreciative I am. I just want to thank you again. It was definitely a trip that me and my fiancé will never forget.” Special thanks to go Dana Horne Realty for helping with accommodations, Southwest Airlines and Turo for providing transportation, San Diego Zoo for giving the young couple a day to remember and our friends at Genentech for delivering everything provided for the Dream—along with their own thoughtful touches.

At just 29, Jeremy is facing the end of life at such a young age. He dreamed of traveling to Seaside, OR, with his loved ones and his two fur-babies. "To see the ocean from the window one last time is something Jeremy would love to do," shared his mom. Our thanks to our supporters and Seaside Vacation Homes for helping make Jeremy’s Dream possible, and to Seaside Aquarium for so generously welcoming the family. “Jeremy had a wonderful time,” says his mom. “Everything was perfect!”

“Dream Foundation blessed our family with the adventure of a lifetime. When my parents came to Kauai on their honeymoon cruise 39 years ago, they wanted to do the helicopter tour here, but it was a little bit out of the budget. Our dad told us girls he always thought about it and kicked himself for not doing it, especially when passengers came back to the ship talking about how cool it was. Yesterday, we got to experience that adventure as a family. The beauty took our breath away, so emotional. The most incredible experience, dad said our ride exceeded any expectations and dreams he had about it. Thank you to Island Helicopters and the Dream Foundation for turning this bucket list item into a reality. First class.” #DreamFoundation #Dreams #bucketlist #palliativecare #ALS

When he learned that his cancer was terminal, U.S. Army veteran Peter needed help with his Dream of visiting Disneyland. He says, “Disneyland isn't just a theme park to me; it represents a sanctuary of joy, innocence, and cherished memories. It's a place where dreams come true, where laughter fills the air, and where, even for a brief moment, one can escape the harsh realities of life. It's a symbol of happiness, of childhood wonder, and of the simple pleasures that make life beautiful.” Peter served as a Chief Warrant Officer, with B Troop Cavalry 2-17 his final assignment. Thank you to everyone who helped make Peter’s Dream possible, including Fisher House Foundation's Hero Miles and our friends Eric Kendall and Jason Schetzel from Gilead Sciences for delivering everything provided for Peter’s Dream.
