Welcome to LeClair Village! In Mashpee on Cape Cod, the project creates 39 units of affordable housing in three separate structures, creating a familial community. This Preservation of Affordable Housing development has increased the Town of Mashpee's affordable housing stock by 11%. The buildings seek to take advantage of the gently sloping site and natural surroundings, taking on the scale and forms of vernacular Cape Cod buildings. Units look out into the Cape Cod pine forest, from which the designers drew inspiration for material and color selections—green pines, golden sand, and red cranberries. LeClair Village is pre-design certified under the strict Passive House Institute of the US (PHIUS) standards, providing excellent air quality and thermal comfort to the residents. Photovoltaics were installed on the roofs of each building to provide efficient, solar energy to the site. #passivehouse #affordablehousing #capecod #architecture #photovoltaic

For over two decades, The Boston Foundation has published the "Greater Boston Housing Report Card," analyzing data on housing supply, demand and affordability. In addition to a core metrics analysis by Boston Indicators, this year's forum included a special topic from Boston University Initiative on Cities on the opportunity for housing development on public land in Greater Boston. As part of the forum, DREAM Collaborative, LLC's Managing Principal Gregory Minott AIA, LEED AP took part in a panel discussion with Senator Lydia Edwards, Kenzie Bok and Soni Gupta. The panel exchanged ideas on what the report's findings and insights suggest for Greater Boston's future and how we can continue to build a Boston of opportunity, prosperity and equity for all. First Church in Roxbury, built in 1804, is the oldest surviving wood-frame meetinghouse in Boston. When complete, Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry will use the building to serve as an accessible community meeting and performing arts space. #historicpreservation #adaptivereuse #renovation #restoration

Curious how the first all-electric building over 4-stories in Boston works? At the Kenzi, the on-site solar photovoltaics (PVs) and battery contribute to the building's energy consumption. This is visible on an energy use dashboard located at the entrance. on a sunny day in "Peak Shaving Mode," the battery and PV can continuously backfeed electricity to the utility grid up to 13kW.

Step inside The Kenzi by DREAM Collaborative, LLC! This project provides development without displacement, affordable age-restricted living, and groundbreaking sustainability for the City of Boston. The Kenzi pushes the design stereotypes of affordable housing and 55+ living with fresh, engaging design. The Passive House standards implemented emphasize high occupant comfort with low energy consumption. The building envelope is fine-tuned to provide proper insulation, balanced ventilation, and ensured airtightness. Paired with solar PV, these strategies reduce energy/utility costs and enhance long-term comfort. The Kenzi is the first Battery Energy Storage System for emergency power over 4-stories in the City of Boston.
